Agricultural University of Georgia initiated foundation of an ecology club “The Lone Earth” in frame of Shota Rustaveli National Scientific Foundation funded project “Science Begins from School – Research with Participation of Schoolchildren” 2017 competition on a base of N64 Tbilisi State School and with active support of St. Ilia the Right Tbilisi school of Patriarchate of Georgia and Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN). The club hosts educational lectures in every two weeks.
The club has been founded under the research project “Examination of soil conditions and approaches to rational use of adjacent territories of Kojori-Samadlo motor road”.
On the second meeting of the club, representative from Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Georgia, Agency of Protected Areas – Mariam Tatarashvili gave a lecture about “Protected Areas of Georgia”. The presentation included information about protected areas of Georgia and services (Ecotourism). The presentation held in interactive format with active participation of schoolchildren and was very interesting for them.
The next meeting will be about men’s best friend – dogs.
